Cherish the New People’s Army

Revitalize the Armed Struggle by Consolidating and Expanding our Ranks

On the occasion of the NPA’s 57th anniversary, the Christians for National Liberation extend our greetings.

We extend our greetings and recognition to the NPA for their sustained commitment to the national democratic interests of the Filipino people, particularly in defending communities from oppressive and exploitative forces of the rotten government, and in assisting the masses in their daily struggles and needs.

We also acknowledge the role of the New People’s Army (NPA), not only as an armed force but also in their steady commitment to community organizing, educating and mobilizing the people towards the road to genuine Liberation.

The National Democratic Revolution, with socialist perspective, guided by the principles of Marxism–Leninism–Maoism in the Philippine context, has long sought and continues to seek to address the fundamental problems of imperialism, bureaucrat capitalism, and feudalism, in Philippine society in its semi-colonial and semi-feudal character, which continue to shape the country’s political and economic life. The persistence of this character has led to numerous atrocities to the lives of the Filipinos and their aspiration for genuine freedom. The NPA’s shinning and undeniable presence and active commitment contribute to the establishment of genuine national sovereignty, meaningful land reform has immensely contributed toward a just social order, and broader participation of the people in political life. They remain nimble, alert in defense, and protection of the people. We applaud the NPA as the only force that has been faithful to defend rural communities and support efforts toward local governance and social reform—that has brought fundamental and long-lasting changes in the lives of the people, and the land—consistently overturning things on behalf of the revolution and the people’s movement.

The New People’s Army is not a terrorist organization but a revolutionary one, a force that emerged from the long-standing socio-economic injustices that continue to afflict our people—a force that must be reckoned with. The roots of their existence are the result of the Philippine society’s lived realities of poverty, landlessness, political exclusion, and systemic inequality, which have historically denied many Filipinos genuine opportunities for dignity and real development.

From this standpoint, the NPA’s struggle as part of a broader movement for social transformation and national liberation, that seeks to confront and dismantle the entrenched structures of imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat capitalism. Hence, the NPA represents the organized response of the marginalized and oppressed, striving to establish a just society and genuine liberation from its oppressors.

The New People’s Army is not a terrorist organization but a revolutionary one,
a force that emerged from the long-standing
socio-economic injustices that continue to
afflict our people—
a force that must be reckoned with

In this light, the Christians for National Liberation affirms the historical and analytical significance of the National Democratic Revolution and the New People’s Army as concrete expressions of the Filipino people’s enduring struggle for social justice, and liberation. We recognize their place within the broader narrative of the nation’s ongoing pursuit of structural transformation, national sovereignty, and a social order that upholds the dignity of every human person. Indeed, they are a refuge of the people against oppressors of the land.

The NPA’s faithful adherence to its basic principles that guide their work, have expressed that truly they are the People’s Army, sharpening the elimination of feudal practices within the army, the strengthening of conscious discipline, and the sharing of hardships and comforts alike. Because of this, the entire people’s army remains firmly united. Their deep connection with the masses has expressed wholehearted service to the people, and remains closely united with and warmly welcomed by the masses.

We recognize the important role of the NPA in the current phase of the Protracted People’s War, conducting extensive and various activities in rural areas, such as base-building and army strengthening, harnessing their skills through training in tactical and ideological methods ensuring the conduct of discipline, and operational effectiveness.

We acclaim how the NPA also provides health and cultural services, such as distributing medicines, providing community counselling, offering basic medical care in remote areas, and preserving and promoting local culture and traditions, including raising awareness among youth and community members on social issues. A true guardian and service to the Filipinos.

We call on our fellow Christians, the Filipino people, especially the youth to integrate in
the class struggle for liberation,
serve the people and
join the New People’s Army!

It is also noteworthy that in communities that they have liberated from the control of the enemy, the NPA establishes systems of people’s governance to maintain peace and order, resolving local disputes and criminal activity and implementing social policies that ensure justice. While not neglecting simultaneously, to conduct tactical offensives against military, police, and other targets considered enemies of the people.

Collectively, these demonstrate that the NPA is not solely an armed force but is embedded in local communities through social, health, cultural, and governance initiatives. Their operations reflect a comprehensive strategy aimed at consolidating order and peace that is based on justice and that always serves the benefit of the masses in rural areas while shaping political consciousness—collectively.

Let us Cherish the New People’s Army, revitalize the Armed Struggle by consolidating and expanding within our ranks and communities. Our active participation in all forms of struggle—armed, political, and social shall advance the National Democratic Revolution. Support the New People’s Army for a more resilient, coordinated, and capable of sustaining protracted peoples revolutionary.

As Christians for National Liberation, let us reaffirm our commitment to support the strategic advancement of the revolution, through various means, such as cherish the army and other technical, material, or logistical aid demonstrating our readiness and resolve in the pursuit of society where peace based on justice truly reigns.

Finally, we call on our fellow Christians, the Filipino people, especially the youth to integrate in the class struggle for liberation, serve the people! join the New People’s Army!

Raise the Red flag of the peoples democratic revolution!

Advance the protracted people’s war!

Defeat imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucratic capitalism!

Long live the New Peoples Army and the Filipino people!
