
Artists of Armas-Southern Tagalog’s “Buhay Gerilya” artwork aptly illustrates this issue’s articles, which tackle the life of the red fighters of the New People’s Army as they face its three-pronged, interconnected tasks in the countryside: waging armed struggle, implementing agrarian revolution and building revolutionary people’s organizations and organs of political power under the guidance of the Communist Party of the Philippines. Fulltime guerrillas are joined by the regular inflow of activists and Party cadres from urban centers who want to live the guerrillas’ life with the masses.
