The Liga ng Agham para sa Bayan (LAB) joins the Filipino people in celebrating 57 years of our beloved New People’s Army (NPA). In spite of the immense challenges currently faced by the NPA and the entire revolutionary movement, the people’s army has persevered and gathered strength under the guidance of the Communist Party of the Philippines in its ongoing rectification movement. For us scientists, engineers, professionals, and students in the sector of science and technology, this occasion is a call to arms—take to the countryside, immerse with the rural masses, take part in armed struggle, join the New People’s Army!

The NPA continues to be a source of inspiration for the members of LAB. We continue to draw strength from the unwavering commitment for our Red fighters to the Philippine revolution. As such, LAB will continue its campaigns and initiatives to make the actions and works of the NPA known to the broadest audiences. We will continue efforts to provide financial and material support to NPA units, and to send increasing numbers of LAB members on exposure trips and integrations with NPA units. We are confident that, in this process, more and more members of LAB will decide to join the NPA.
LAB is also committed to expanding its membership aggressively by recruiting more and more STEM students and professionals who are tired of and frustrated with our rotten semicolonial, semifeudal society. It is clear that the persistent maladies of imperialism, bureaucrat capitalism, and feudalism in the Philippines, which manifests in part in the lack of basic industries, lack of job opportunities, and rural backwardness of our country, will only be eradicated through the people’s democratic revolution.
STEM professionals and students are challenged to bring our collective revolutionary struggle to
its logical conclusion,
to the highest form of struggle possible.
The ongoing US-led war on Iran, the continuing massive corruption of public funds under the Marcos Jr. regime, and the skyrocketing prices of petrol products and basic goods will only bring greater sections of the Filipino people closer to the revolution. On this fertile ground, LAB will continue to sow seeds so that our organization grows quantitatively and qualitatively, and as such increases its capacity to respond to the needs of the NPA and the revolutionary movement as a whole.
In the spirit of the current rectification movement, LAB continues to make ambitious and progressive strides towards addressing past errors and concretely advancing the Philippine revolution. Once again, on the 57th anniversary of the NPA, STEM professionals and students are challenged to bring our collective revolutionary struggle to its logical conclusion, to the highest form of struggle possible.
Take up arms against imperialism, bureaucrat capitalism, and feudalism! Scientists and engineers, join the New People’s Army! ###
